BACKGROUND:
Lloyd McKee serves as an associate pastor of Open Door Baptist Church in Chili,
NY. Raised less than a day's drive away in the agricultural community of Lancaster,
PA, Lloyd's teen years included lots of farm work. A few months after placing
his trust in Jesus as his Savior at the age of 17, Lloyd left Lancaster to serve
with the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. During his navy years, Lloyd served
as a Baptist lay leader on board the U.S.S. Constellation and had the privilege
of leading Bible studies, organizing outreach programs, doing street preaching
in various ports, and sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ with his shipmates.
After receiving an honorable discharge four years later, Lloyd enrolled in the
inaugural class at Calvary Baptist Theological Seminary (CBTS) in 1976. (www.cbs.edu)
During the summer before his third year at CBTS, Lloyd met his wife, Cheri,
while serving as a “Preacher Boy” at his home church in Lancaster.
They were married the following June. During his fourth and final year of seminary
training, GRACO Children’s Products hired Lloyd to conduct a Bible study
and chapel program for employees in their Rochester, NY, plant. The company
flew Lloyd to Rochester two days a week to conduct these programs, and he attended
classes the other three days. Upon completing the pastoral studies program at
seminary in 1980, Lloyd and Cheri answered God’s call to relocate to Rochester
with their infant daughter.
EDUCATION:
Lloyd continued his education at Rochester Institute of Technology, earning
a BS in Applied Arts and Sciences with concentrations in social work, communication,
and psychology. He went on to receive a Master of Divinity degree in pastoral
studies and a Doctor of Ministries degree in counseling, both from Calvary Baptist
Theological Seminary . Lloyd is a certified member of the National Association
of Nouthetic Counselors, a fellowship of Christian pastors and laymen who have
banded together to promote excellence in biblical counseling. (www.nanc.org)

of Open Door Baptist Church. In addition to providing individual and family

Lloyd has also taught counseling courses and provided training to pastors and
