A Letter from the Director –
Dear Parent and/or Guardian:
We are excited about our theme for Sports Camp this year, “Pirates – Seeking for Treasure”, and as you plan your family’s summer activities, we hope that you will choose to send your children to our camp this year. This is our 8th year hosting this annual event and we hope that you continue to plan for it every year!
For the past several years we’ve improved our Monday morning registration process so that you don’t have to wait so long in line. We encourage you to register online at www.opendoorchili.org. Filling out the information on our web page will greatly help our Registration Administration Team. If someone does not have internet access, please have them call the church at 889-3220 to request a registration form. After filling out the form and signing the Minor Waiver/Release, they may re-fold the filled out documents with the return address facing out, place a stamp and a return address on the return sheet, staple/tape, and mail. Returned registration forms must be post-marked prior to Wednesday, July 29th. We also provide a Registration Form Drop-Box located outside the front door of the church. After the 29th, all registration forms must be submitted in person on Registration Day, Monday, August 3rd (first day of camp).
As in previous years, it is our number one priority to maintain a safe and fun environment for your child. These are just some of the safety precautions and procedures that we have implemented in the past to ensure the safety of your child.
This year we have invested in a new security system that provides a secure ID number for each child that is registered. Each parent/guardian will be provided this secure ID number to be matched with the child for pick-up. If there is an alternate person to pick-up your child, please provide the secure ID number to that person.
Water Camp Schedule – please make sure your children are prepared to bring their swimming-suit and towel on the following scheduled camp days. Young ladies, please wear one-piece bathing suits only. A dark colored pull over T-shirt is also highly recommended. There’s always a good chance that children will get wet on other days during Camp.
Again, we want you and your child to have an amazing week, and to feel comfortable leaving them here at Open Door Baptist Church Sports Camp. Thank you for taking the time to read this letter. We hope you have a blessed week… and don’t forget about Friday Fair Night for the whole family! Please feel free to call the church if you have any questions or concerns… 889-3220.
In His Name,
James P. Besse
Sports Camp Director
